The exercise was held in Weeze (Germany)

ITHACA participated in a field exercise on Civil Protection Modules within the framework of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, joining the Italian TAST (Technical Assistance Support Team) of the Regione Piemonte Civil Protection Sector.

The exercise (Trimodex exercise 3) was held in Weeze (Germany) from 26th to 29th of May 2016, where a deployment of an EUCP Team, TAST and USAR modules in a country hit by a hurricane with pre-existing issues related to refugees was realistically simulated, as you can see in this video.

This was a unique opportunity for Ithaca to better understand the information management requirements (especially in terms of mapping and geographic information) in the OSOCC (On Site Operations Coordination Centre) as well as in the BoO (Base of Operations).

We would like to thank the Regione Piemonte Civil Protection for making this collaboration possible as well as all the civil protection volunteers that joined the exercise.
