Mattia Labartino

GIS and Remote Sensing Specialist & UAV Pilot

Mattia has interest in UAV applications for emergency management, risk and ecological assessments and he holds an UAV pilot certification formally issued by ENAC (2019).

He is a collaborator in ITHACA since January 2019 for rapid mapping products where he give support to early impact analyses and production of thematic maps using GIS technologies in support of disaster management. 

Currently, he supports the internal tools development and IT service of ITHACA production site for the Copernicus Emergency Management Service – Rapid Mapping module and Risk and Recovery module.

He is also involved in the assessment of technical protocol and workflow  for the Copernicus In-Situ component of the EEA (OSM).

Mattia holds a II Level University Master in GIS science and UAV for environmental management at the Department of Environmental Engineering at University of Padua (2018); the research project was focused on processing Landsat images for classification and vegetation analysis in Western Amazon. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Spatial Ecology at University of Turin (2015) with a  thesis research project developed in collaboration with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences focused on spatial ecology in a sub-arctic environment.
