GIS and Remote Sensing Specialist
Matilde joined ITHACA in 2020 to support Copernicus Earth Observation services in the domain of post-disaster early impact analysis and supplementary geomatics research activities. She has exerience in processing geospatial information and Remote Sensing data for mapping production.
As geomatics researcher she prevoiusly joined Centre of Geotechnologies –University of Siena being involved in land surveying and photogrammetric tecnhniques, GPS and laser scanner data processing for production of 3D topographic models. She has also former professional experience in Mobile Mapping Systems (2017) and in spatial data processor for offshore wind farm in Belgium (2018-19).
She holds a Master’s of Science degree in Geomatics at Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands, 2015). Her graduation project is entitled “Analysis of mobility patterns in different neighbourhoods, integrating GPS tracks with OpenStreetMap data”. Before, she gained a Bachelor degree in Geographical Sciences at Univeristy of Bologna (2013), with a thesis on multi-temporal analysis of the mouth of the river Reno, using satellite images and historical maps.
