GIS and Remote Sensing Specialist
Lorenza Bovio holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science (University of Milano-Bicocca, 2006).
She is specialized in processing, satellite images photo-interpretation, production and elaboration of thematic map with a specific focus on Land Cover, Land Cover Changes and Land degradation analysis.
After an internship at ENEA Research Center of Bologna in 2006, from 2007 to 2014 she has worked as remote sensing specialist for an Italian consulting company in the field of water resources management, hydraulic and geophysics and she has been involved in projects mainly in Iraq and Kazakhstan.
She joined Ithaca in September 2014 as member of ITHACA Service Provider team for Copernicus Emergency Mapping Service in RUSH mode.
She’s a technical staff of validation activities carried out by ITHACA in the frame of the Copernicus project Global Land High Resolution Hot Spot Monitoring within the Global Land Component of the Copernicus Land Service (C-GL-HRM) - Lot 1 - 2015-2019. Currently she acts as coordinator in LEXIS (Large-scale Execution for Industry and Society) H2020 project. She also works on Copernicus Risk and Recovery Mapping project.
