From November 28th to December 2nd developers, stakeholders and decision makers met at the GeoNode Summit in Rome. The Summit was organized by the UN World Food Program (WFP) and meetings were held at their headquarters. More than 50 people came from all around the world to discuss the state of the GeoNode development, future releases, new features and present their projects.
From the 2nd to the 4th of February, users and developers sat together to release the final GeoNode version 2.4. The GeoNode Developers' Summit was split in two sites, one hosted by CNR ISMAR in Venice (Italy) and one hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, D.C.
Within the World Bank financed project MASDAP, ITHACA held a technical training session on the use of satellite data for vulnerability assessment in Blantyre from December 15 to 19, 2014.
In the framework of the partnership between the World Bank and the Government of Malawi for flood risk reduction in the Shire River Basin, ITHACA has been appointed technical consultant for the development and implementation of a web-based data sharing tool based on GeoNode (http://geonode.org/), the free and open-source software which is being used in a number of other OpenDRI projects in the region and around the world.
