ITHACA's presence at international events on disaster management

It is a very busy September for ITHACA staff who is participating to various international events addressing the topics of disaster risk reduction and emergency management.

In particular, ITHACA will be present at:

  • 6th Annual UN-SPIDER Conference on Space-based Technologies for Disaster Risk Reduction "Understanding Disaster Risk“ (Beijing, 19-21 September): ITHACA has been invited as speaker and will contribute with a presentation on "Processing and sharing of space-based geospatial information for Disaster Management" as well as presenting relevant IWG-SEM documents
  • International Working Group on Satellite based Emergency Mapping (IWG-SEM) annual autumn meeting (Salzburg, 19-20 September): ITHACA has been playing an active role in the group since its foundation and keeps contributing to the discussions on particular matters of common interest
  • 2nd annual Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team "HOT Summit" (Brussels, 22 September), ITHACA will participate to this event to learn, discuss and share ideas on how open geospatial data and the global Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team community are contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals
  • State of the Map 2016 (Brussels, 23-25 September): ITHACA will take part to the the annual event for all mappers and OpenStreetMap users which offers a wide program of talks and workshops.
