MoU between ITHACA and Columbia University

ITHACA and the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) of the Earth Institute at Columbia University set a Memorandum of Understanding for co-operation.

The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) of the Earth Institute at Columbia University, is a leading research institution engaged in a wide variety of fundamental and applied research activities, including in the areas of global climate change, environmental hazards, and renewable resources.

ITHACA and LDEO envision conducting collaborative research in the following areas:

  • performing or assisting in studies and research aimed at developing knowledge and innovative methodologies in the field of physical modeling and application of space science in environmental monitoring
  • promoting the use of satellite data to integration of those acquired by local monitoring networks
  • contributing to the development and engineering applications in the fields of physical modeling, based on data from weather-climate and environmental earth observations.
